Application Procedure and Roof Suitability

As the world moves towards global warming the summers are getting hotter and while energy cost go ever up the air conditioning becomes more expensive by the day. The need for cooler homes and reduced air conditioning bill is answered by home insulation. As roof is one side of the building that constantly faces the sun the real benefit comes from insulating it.

Suitable Roofs

Most types of Roofs are suitable for Spray Saharafoam Polyurethane insulation. As the weight of this form of insulation is only 110 grams per ft2 it imposes practically no structural stress. It is suitable for

1. New RCC Roofs
2. Old RCC Roofs
3. Industrial Double Tee Roofs
4. Industrial Inverted Beams Roofs
5. Industrial Shell Roofs
6. Corrugated Steel/Asbestos Roofs

Application

The Spray Saharafoam is applied in three phases. We perform the first two phase and the client carries out the third.

Phase 1. Cleaning the Roof

We clean the surface of your roofs to remove dust and prepare ground for Spray Polyurethane Insulation.

Phase 2. Polyurethane Insulation

Our Specially designed trucks is parked next to your building. The Spray Saharafoam is dispensed from high-pressure machinery and pumped via electrically heated hoses to your roof. We spray your roof with Polyurethane and this material is cured within seconds as it is sprayed. We normally recommend 30mm thickness as it is sufficient for Pakistani climate.

Phase 3. UV Protection

As the only protection required by the Saharfoam is from UV Light we recommend that the Polyurethane is covered within a week of application. This phase is carried out by the client and one of the following methods are recommended.

1. Paint the Saharafoam with UV resistant paint if there is absolutely no foot traffic. We recommend you special types of paints.
2. Cover the roof with cement screeding reinforced with weld mesh.
3. Cover the roof with Tiles Cement /Mud.

Use of Roof After Polyurethane Application

The roof remains perfectly usable after Polyurethane insulation especially if screeding is applied as the top protective coat. Further construction can carried out on roof leaving Polyurethane as it is. Alternative Polyurethane can be scrapped after manual scrapping.

Guarantee

Provided a proper top cover is provided the Polyurethane is guaranteed for life.
